In February, Five-Time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady announced his retirement from the NFL; he had just finished his 22nd season in the league, marking his second year with the Buccaneers. He had won his seventh, and what seemed to be final, Superbowl ring.

Seven-time Super Bowl Champ Tom Brady announced on Twitter that he would be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a short retirement.

“These past two months I realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady tweeted, “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible”

“We are thrilled that Tom has decided to come back this season…today’s announcement is something have been preparing for in recent days,” Buccaneer’s general manager Jason Licht commented, adding, “we will continue to move forward with our offseason plans to reload this roster for another championship run.”

Head coach Bruce Arians commented, “we are ecstatic that he decided to continue playing and working toward winning another championship.”

Tom Brady will return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season, his 23rd in the NFL.
