Sanae Takaichi became the first female Prime Minister of Japan, which signals a large turning point in Japan’s history. However, she is not only a symbol of female strength in faith, but can also prove to the world her power. It’s only been a day since Sanae Takaichi became the Prime Minister, and she already has some big plans in store. Currently, she’s trying to allocate more government funds to the defense of Japan, significantly speeding up its development. She believes that military strength is what makes a country strong, and her actions represent that. She also has a plan to change the economy in Japan, nicknamed “Sanaenomics.” What this plan will accomplish is making Japan far more independent from other countries by having the government spend money on technological self-growth. New technology, medicine, and other advanced technologies are planned to be manufactured and improved upon within Japan, rather than having them be imported.
Next week, Takaichi is expecting a visit from the President of the United States of America, President Donald Trump. Despite attempting to be more independent, Takaichi still wants to make sure Japan’s relationship with the United States remains top-notch, so she is promising to buy American resources in order to keep up their trade. Unfortunately for many, even though Takaichi is seen as a symbol of change for Japan, her style is pretty old school, as seen with her being against same-sex marriages. However, this is still just the beginning for Takaichi, and she has plenty of time. Now the whole world is waiting to see how Takaichi leaves her mark on Japan.
