Hello! My name is Aminata Barry but I go by Amina for short. I am a junior at Winthrop High School, and this is my third year with the Viking Times. I am so excited to be writing for another year and I can’t wait to continue sharing my articles. Outside of the Viking Times, I am a member of the Winthrop Girls Varsity Basketball Team, Math Club, and Tutoring Club. I also volunteer at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Winthrop Public Library. I have an addiction to shopping at the mall and love traveling. I’ve visited France, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Jamaica, and Canada. Plus, I’ve been to more than 15 other states in the USA. I come from a very large African family so I have family all around the world. One of my favorite things to do is write. Being a part of this club has given me a chance to enhance my writing skills and write about anything I find interesting. I promise this year to write and read as many articles as possible! :)
