Grandma’s Famous Pistachio Chip Cake Recipe

Grandmas+Famous+Pistachio+Chip+Cake+Recipe

Spring is here and it’s time to get baking. My great grandmother made this recipe to give to my great grandfather who had a love of pistachios. He used to think she was slaving in the kitchen for hours, when in actuality she only did limited preparation before throwing it in the oven. Today I’m going to share this recipe with you, so that you can impress your family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Pint Sour Cream
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 1 Package of Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Package of Pistachio Instant Pudding
  • 6 oz of Chocolate Chips

Directions:

Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and grease a bundt pan.

Step 2

Mix water, sour cream, eggs, oil, cake mix, and pistachio pudding into a medium sized bowl for 10 minutes, but make sure to not over mix. It should be thick by the end.

Step 3

Fold in chocolate chips until evenly spread throughout.

*Cover them in flower before putting them in, it doesn’t allow them to sink to the bottom.*

Step 4

Spread your batter evenly throughout the bundt pan, and place into your oven for one hour.

Step 5

Remove from oven, let it cool completely, and enjoy!

Optional Step 6

You can make a glaze to go over top, but don’t use frosting because it will be sweet. This is the recipe I used!
