The Boys Tennis season starts 3/20/23. The tennis team will have a very different outlook than last year because most of the Varsity team was foreign exchange students and seniors. Due to missing both of those groups many other players will have to step up to fill in the roles. I decided to talk with three people on the tennis team to ask their opinions, Nick Cirelli, Andrew Stangle, and Joe Romano.

Firstly, I asked Joe. Joe Romano is a Senior at WHS. JD: What are your thoughts on the upcoming season? JR: I’m really excited for this season. We had a lot of players graduating which leaves plenty of open varsity positions. I think we are going to play hard and have a competitive season.

Secondly, I asked Nick. Nick Cirelli is a Junior at WHS. JD: What are your thoughts on the upcoming season? NC: I’ve got a good feeling on the season, we have a solid team this year and if we can get into things fine we can definitely do good.

Lastly, I asked Andrew. Andrew Stangle is a Junior at WHS. JD: What are your thoughts on the upcoming season? AS: I know that this season will be good. It depends on if we get many new players this year. Our whole varsity team consisted of exchange students and seniors. So, if our seniors and juniors this year are good, we’ll have a good season, even if they’re not I know we’ll still have a good season because it’s always good

Andrew and Joe both agree on my point of view. Both of them say that their will be many open varsity spots. Due to the large amount of spots their will be plenty of opportunity and change on the team.

Overall the season will have a mysterious but strong start with lots of new varsity players. Good luck to the WHS tennis team as they enter into their season this upcoming Monday!
